Intro
COMP4447 / COMP5047 brief: Wildlife-First Adaptive Path Light. Always-on cool-white path lighting is habitat loss for insectivorous microbats on a Sydney bushland-edge path. Darkness is the default; light is the exception for a walker.
The draft names Xinlong Bao on the team sheet. Other rows are empty. The folder is the proposal markdown, not a build.
Method
Specified, not implemented here: ESP32-S3 rule machine, lux sensor, mmWave presence, a MEMS mic with a 20–50 kHz envelope into ADC (TinyML listed as an upgrade), PC-amber / 2200 K LED on MOSFET PWM, servo louver, 18650. States: night empty → off; person → fade up, path-only; bat-band while occupied → dim, never below a safety floor; person leaves → fade down.
Demo
Nothing to flash. Intended later: dusk campus, then park with permission; a live demo may use recorded playback so a bat is not required.
Conclusion
A more-than-human spec: default-off, spectrum, direction, duration. It is design work. It is not a shipped fixture.
